The Royal Calcutta Turf Club was built in 1820. It also has the distinction of being graced by King George V in 1912. RCTC is easily India’s oldest and grandest race turfs. At a point of time, it enjoyed the exclusive rights to organize and administer races throughout the country and also was the first to host a Derby Race in India. The huge stands, a well-stocked library, Billards/Snooker Room, Bars, including a ladies’ bar are some of the facilities that make RCTC a great place. Well organized races and modern technology synchronized with kingly legacy are reasons why RCTC is a not just a turf club, it is beyond.
