Mahalakshmi Race Course, as it is popularly known, was built in 1883 on a sprawling 225-acre sea facing plot originally donated by Sir Cursow N Wadia. It was also the first to introduce Indian Classics in the year 1943. As part of the RWITC, it has been a much frequented place by socialites and eminent personalities alike.
